I had the opportunity to help one of my pals participating in Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week (NWAFW).
Darcy is a true inspiration to me. I met Darcy at Maude and at the time she was blogging on her site called HelloLuvvy. She has now rebranded to Darcy Apparel.
Darcy is a GO-GETTER.
She had a dream of owning her own store and eventually her own clothing line and she went after it. Her store is amazing, its currently under renovation but you can still shop online. Darcy rebranded as she plans on designing her own line soon.
Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week
This week was so hectic although I only helped for a few days. I appreciate Darcy even more knowing all of her hard work behind the scenes she's a one-man band for right now and in the midst of that was so organized.
Wednesday night was "Shopping Night Out" and Darcy and I packed her car to the brim while it was pouring down rain and then we unloaded her car while it was pouring down rain. LOL. It was all part of the experience though! It went really well and was so much fun to get to meet shoppers and talk about the amazing apparel that Darcy had selected for her store.
For the actual day of the show Darcy had her friend Allison Hobbs come and paint on the models. She also hand painted scarves for some of the models to wear to complete their look. Check out Allison's page she is incredible!
We got to the venue for show day around 4:30 and the few hours that we were there FLEW by. It was so much fun seeing models my age, older and younger sort of snap into character depending on the boutique they were modeling for.
I loved how classy yet casual the Darcy Apparel models were.
The paint added a unique and creative element to the models and was something I had never seen done before.
I was on my knees taping the bottom of shoes close to the beginning of show and helping the NWAFW staff clean up trash.
The show was phenomenal. All of the models worked it on the runway I was so impressed!
While the hours leading up to the show were a bit chaotic it was so fun getting to support Darcy and watch everything come together.
Have you ever participated or been to a local Fashion Week?
