Peppermint Sugar Scrub
I typically get all of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday. Yes, I'm "that" person... you just can't beat a good deal!
This year, while I had the majority of my shopping done by then, I wanted to include a homemade gift as well. I love the special touch homemade gifts add. I was inspired by one of my co-workers who made our whole team an amazing peppermint soap.
This Peppermint Sugar Scrub is easy to make and is fairly inexpensive. Not to mention it's great for your skin and isn't full of harmful chemicals like most store bought ones.
Here's what you need:
- Coconut Oil
- Peppermint Essential Oil
- Red Food Dye
- Jelly Jars
- Candy Canes
- Cute tag/label (peep the wooden clips above)
Grab yourself a small mixing bowl and let's get this thang started!
Pour the sugar and coconut oil into your mixing bowl.. You may need to pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds if you're using cold-pressed.
Add a few drops of peppermint oil, I tend to add 4-6 drops because I love a good strong scent. Then add your red dye, a little goes a long way so 3-4 drops will do the trick!
I found these little wooden clips at Target for a DOLLAR. That deal gets me in trouble sometimes... You can find everything you need for this little project at Target or Walmart.
Double up your twine, wedge a candy cane between the twine and jar, add a clip and you're DONE.
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil (cold-pressed)
- 1 1/4 cups Sugar
- 4-6 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 2-4 drops Red Food Dye
I love simple homemade gifts!
