Keeping It Simple
As many of you know I just completed the #10x10challenge. The #10x10challenge means I selected 10 items (tops, bottoms, dresses, rompers, etc) to wear over the course of 10 days. I did not include shoes or jackets in this challenge since it was my first one but I will definitely be including it in the next seasonal #10x10challenge I take part in.
I will be providing a full recap on this challenge as soon as I can get my life together and photograph all my outfits!
At the beginning of this challenge I was under the misconception that I'd need to have a basic wardrobe and keep things pretty boring for this to be a success, but I was WRONG. Simple doesn't mean boring. I have several different items that I would consider a little out there and they are some of my favorites.
This was outfit Day 2 and one of my least favorite combinations.
However, I absolutely love this top from Hello Luvvy it can be worn casually or for business, not to mention it is the softest button down ever, I just hate those stiff ones. I paired it with some skinny jeans from TJ Maxx that are getting a little baggy (oops), and some $10 mules I scored from one of Qupid's crazy sales.
I added a bandana to this look as I haven't been wearing necklaces lately and I don't like the look of a necklace with a button down. This bandana was pretty thick and stiff and after debating as to whether or not to wear it I decided to add it to my list of staple items I'd like to add to my closet. I'll expand on this in my actual 10x10 post. :)
I'm trying not to share all of my learning from the challenge in this post but I do want to encourage you to try it for yourself! You truly discover a lot about your style and shopping habits in 10 days.
As I mentioned, this outfit was honestly one of my least favorites but one of my followers favorites. I think my biggest regret here was that I didn't pick out my 10 items at the very beginning of the challenge but rather as I went so I didn't think through the combination on this one.
Have you all heard of the #10x10challenge before? What are some of your favorite staple wardrobe pieces?
