September 23rd, 2017 was a dream and a bit of a blur. People always say your wedding day is an out of body experience and that could not be more true. I cannot believe that after 9 months of spent energy and planned finances, the day was over within a few hours. But, what a treasure it was to celebrate with all of our friends and family!
I'm excited to share some of our wedding photos soon, but until then here are some pictures we took on our honeymoon. For the most part we just enjoyed the beautiful scenery, free drinks and unlimited food while neglecting to take pictures of it all!
We were blessed to have our honeymoon completely paid for by Sam's parents. We stayed at the Excellence Resorts in Playa Mujeres.
The much sought after and desired Honeymoon door banner. We received ours a little late you should ask us about the story. ;) It's a good one.
This was the view from our room. It was absolutely stunning. Every morning we got to see the sun peak over the buildings and most nights fell asleep to really weird shows directly across from us in a big outdoor center.
This was our first night out. The sunset was beautiful and the weather was probably the best that day. As it rained on and off throughout the evenings for the remainder of the nights.
I basically let my hair air dry every day because any reason not to use a hair dryer and soak in those beach waves is a good one. Am I right?
I can't speak highly enough about this place. Not only was the resort just absolutely incredible and beautiful but, the treatment we received from EVERY staff member was impeccable. We hope we get to go back one day.
If you haven't figured it out yet... I had the camera the majority of the time.
The beach was absolutely stunning. The water was clear and refreshing and the waiters were amazing.
The drinks were amazing and we absolutely loved the waiter on the beach.
The covered chairs were everything. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go to a beach and enjoy it the same way! We loved not having to set up anything when we went to lay out.
The Blankenships ;)
Our second to last night and by far one of the most memorable and it was the night we finally got the dang banner!
A total failed selfie attempt but look how cute my husband is. ;)
If you have any questions about The Excellence we would love to share our experience with you. We decided to go to The Excellence based upon recommendations.
What was your favorite part about your honeymoon and where did you go?
