This Friday marks my last summer Friday at work, HOW?!
This summer flew by. I vividly remember Sam and I sitting at our counter planning to keep our summer open. That didn't happen... but we are grateful for the amazing memories we made in the midst of hectic schedules.
We both made a serious goal to read several books this summer and I'm sad to say... Sam surpassed me!
Now I'll get to it.
Top 3 Summer 2018 Reads.
1. Stronger Than The Struggle By Havilah Cunnington.
I can't say enough about this book. I've read one too many books on faith that never mention the Holy Spirit. This book taught me how to handle conflict in a new way and how to approach spiritual warfare. Havilah truly uncomplicates the spiritual battle many of us feel like we are going through every day.
2. Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? By Beverly Daniel Tatum
This book. Wow. I learned so much. I am passionate about racial reconciliation, and this book taught me a whole new level of awareness. Beverly shares practical ways to talk about race. While this book was very educational, it was also an easy read. If race is something you care about - you need to read this.
3. Everybody Always By Bob Goff
Every time I read this book I cry. Bob Goff is actually an unreal human. They way he loves has challenged me to look at the way I love others. His boldness and courage in all circumstances has paved the way and allowed me to look at my life in a new way.
There's value in reading. There's value in educating yourself. There's value in learning about people that are different than you.
I'd love to hear some of your favorite reads!
